My name is Alison and I have an accredited BACP (Hons) Counselling degree from the University of East London. I am an Integrative practitioner which means I am trained in different theoretical approaches, which I can tailor to your specific needs. The approaches that inform most of my work are Person-centred, Existentialism, CBT and Psychodynamic. I work to the BACP ethical framework for the counselling professions and am continually enhancing my knowledge through continued personal and professional development. I have a relaxed approach and encourage you to be yourself. I understand that talking to a stranger is a daunting prospect, but through my caring, gentle, and warm approach, with a hint of good humour, you will find that it is possible to share your experiences and start to make sense of your feelings.
I offer personalised individual therapy sessions tailored to your unique needs in a safe and supportive environment where you can explore your thoughts and feelings. I offer personalised individual therapy sessions tailored to your unique needs in a safe and supportive environment where you can explore your thoughts and feelings. Whether you are dealing with anxiety, depression, or life transitions, I am here to help you navigate your challenges and promote personal growth. I work face-to-face from a therapeutic practice in Marylebone, central London and two locations in Hertfordshie, Bishop's Stortford, and Hertford. I also work on-line for those that prefer the convinience of being in your own home or place of work.
I have been supporting children and young people since 2022, I offer talking therapy that allows young people to express themselves in ways that feel right for them, including through words, play and art. I have been supporting children and young people since 2022, I offer talking therapy that allows young people to express themselves in ways that feel right for them, including through words, play and art. In my work, I take a gentle person-centred approach, meaning I follow the young persons pace and support them to explore their thoughts and feelings in a way that feels safe. I aim to build a trusting relationship where each child feels heard, respected and understood. Each session is flexible and creative, using a range of therapeutic resources depending on age, needs and interests of the young person. Above all, I focus on helping them develop confidence, resiliance, and emotional well-being in their everyday lives.

I have extensive experience working specifically with clients who are experiencing difficulties connected with pregnancy, pregnancy loss, fertility treatments, infertility, involuntary childlessness and early years parenting and related issues. Through this work I have had many hours of training which is supplementary to my counselling degree which includes Trauma, IVF, Polycystic ovary syndrome, Miscarriage, Baby loss and the work of SANDS, Grief and Bereavement and Birth trauma.
For those who have or are experiencing any of these difficulties I understand how isolating and intolerabe they can be and the pressures subsequently placed on relationships. With my support you will be able to have a safe and non-judgmetal space for exploration of your feelings and emotions.

Please reach out via the contact form or email address and we can arrange an initial telephone call, this will help you to decide if you think I am the best person for your needs.

Counselling refers to talk therapy focusing on helping to find a solutions to current issues and feelings. Psychotherapy is a more in-depth, long term process that focuses on a persons past experiences and how these experiences are affecting them.
For Counselling and Psychotherapy my fee is dependent on location, ranging from £60 in the Hertfordshire area - £110 in W1, per 50 minute session, which ideally takes place at the same time each week. If you are a trainee counsellor or on low income a reduced fee can be negotiated.
Counselling is confidential but there are exceptions. if I feel you are a risk to yourself or others or if I am required to break confidentiality by law, I may need to consult with a third party.
In line with the BACP ethical framework I attend regular supervision to ensure good practice. In supervision I discuss my work but this is done anonymously and for the purpose of ethical decision making and personal reflexivity.
